Frequently Asked Questions
Is there a minimum fee or number of people?
There is a minimum booking fee of £470.00 (excluding trials), for example; bride +3 for one service / bride hair and makeup +1 bridal party hair and makeup
Do you offer discounts for larger bridal bookings?
Unfortunately I don’t offer a discount for large bookings as most of the time these bookings actually require earlier start times and/or the need for an assistant.
Do i need a trial and how long do they take?
Yes, the bride needs to have a trial to ensure peace of mind for both you and me that you’re 100% happy with the look we create and also to make sure of no allergic reactions; your bridal party are welcome to have one but it’s not essential. A bridal makeup OR hair trial will take between 1.5 - 2 hours and a bride makeup AND hair trial takes between 3.5 - 4 hours. A trial is advised for around 3-6 months before and they take place at my home studio in Aldershot during the week (Monday-Thursday in peak season of April - October) and during daylight hours. Weekends are kept free for bridal & event bookings and trials will not take place after these, however in the off peak months there may be some availability.
How do I prepare for a trial?
I advise you start to create a Pinterest board of styles you like, looking for images where the model is similar in colourings, hair length, hair colour etc so you can get a realistic expectation of what can be achieved. Start to invest in really looking after your skin if you don’t already; increase your water intake and look into a skincare routine from cleansing, toning/exfoliating, serum, eye cream and day/night cream. You only get one skin in this lifetime and if you’re looking for flawless makeup without lots going on then we need to start with beautiful skin.
Will it last all day or will i need to top up?
I usually suggest you have a light pressed powder to take with you on the day to remove any shine from your skin and a lip product to top up with as this will come off through eating, drinking, chatting, kissing etc. I will let you know which products we used at the trial so they are the same.
What order do we go in?
After your trial you I will ask for all the names of the ladies I will be doing on the day and will put together a bespoke timeline so everybody knows what time they need to be in the chair. I usually do the bride second to last, never first and never last incase anything runs behind. I advise hair be done before bridal makeup when possible.
Should I have a natural look?
Every single bride is individual and I will always say that there is no “one size fits all”, I encourage you to think of your personal style and if you have a signature look or a favourite feature then lets create a look with those in mind, as after all you want to look like you but the most polished version of you.
do you require a deposit?
Yes a non refundable deposit is required to secure your date, which is then deducted from the final amount payable on the day.
If you’d like to have a trial prior to paying your deposit you are more than welcome to but I would advise the trial to take place sooner then later as your date is not secure until a deposit is paid.
do you travel for weddings?
Yes I am more then happy to travel for weddings, there is no restriction on distance. There will be a charge for travel & in some instances accommodation.
Destination weddings will incur costs of travel to & from airports, flights, accommodation and a subsistence fee for every 24 hours away from home.
